Money laundering

The Money Laundering Regulations 2003 came into force on 1 March 2004. They apply to property transactions and require detailed procedures for client identification and reporting. Guidance for solicitors has been published by the Law Society, available on its website: www.lawsociety.org.uk. The Bar Council has also provided guidance on the regulations.
