Commonhold: the new law
Commonhold is a new form of ownership and management for interdependent buildings such as blocks of flat, office blocks and mixed-use buildings. This course examines:
- Introducing Commonhold
- Background to the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002
- The structure of the legislation: primary and secondary legislation
- Commonhold units, commonhold associations and commonhold community statements
- Setting up a new commonhold
- Converting a leasehold building into a commonhold
- Managing a commonhold
- Buying, selling, mortgaging or leasing commonholds
- How commonholds can be brought to an end.
This course provides a comprehensive account of the new law and how it can be applied in practice.
