Marc Beaumont

Marc Beaumont is an experienced Mediator, accredited by the School of Psychotherapy and Counselling in London. He is a senior Barrister, called in 1985. He specialises in Property and Commercial Litigation, Professional Disciplinary and Regulatory work and Education Law and Judicial review. He is a pioneer of the Bar Public Access scheme.

He has conducted numerous Mediations and especially enjoys mediating boundary disputes, which he conducts (usually successfully) on site. He believes in keeping up the pace of his Mediations. He is a skilful negotiator, equipped with a psychotherapeutic angle to Mediation. This involves connecting with the underlying emotional content of a dispute. He believes that all disputes are driven by emotion, of which the legal issues are mere symptoms. Legal know-how in a Mediator is a mechanical tool, but not the primary reason why Mediators settle cases. Marc Beaumont is, however, also capable of breaking "deadlock" with a range of assertive techniques. He is able to converse with and win the confidence of people from all backgrounds. He is as comfortable with a multi-million pound dispute, as with a domestic quarrel.
