Revision to Land Registry Practice Guide 08 – Execution of Deeds
Section 44 Companies Act 2006 - new form of execution of deeds by companies
The Land Registry has revised Practice Guide 08 - Execution of deeds to reflect the changes introduced by s44 of the Companies Act 2006, which came into effect on 6 April 2008. Paragraph 4.2 of Practice Guide 08 contains the required form of attestation clause where a company executes a transfer or other deed by means of a single director’s signature made in the presence of a witness who attests the signature, a new form of company execution permitted by s44.
